Our Overflow Offering this Sunday, December 17 will provide us with an opportunity to give out of the overflow of what God has already done for us. This is designed to be an end of the year offering that will be above and beyond our usual tithes and offerings. I am believing that we will be able to raise $8,000 this Sunday.

Please pray about participating and jump in with us. God has given us a great mission, and we’re blessed to be able to join him in reaching our community for Christ and advancing the Gospel around the world. Read below to learn more about what we are doing with the Overflow Offering.

If you know you won't be there this Sunday, you can also
give online.

As you give, people in Central Florida, in our country, and in our world will discover how God does extraordinary things with "fixer-uppers" like us.
Jesus tells us that “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Everything we do as a church is an effort to continue that mission in our city, country, and world. With us only two months into this mission, we want to establish a way that our church can work together to accelerate our efforts.

As we grow as a church family and individually, we start to see God’s promises come to fruition, not only as a church body but in our own families and lives. When this happens, we begin to have a thankful heart and an overflowing life. A thankful heart and an overflowing life are generous.
At Anchor Church we have a saying that comes out of Hebrews 6:19: “We Have This Hope…” Our hope is found in Jesus. It is really clear in God’s word that the local church is God’s primary source to provide hope and the Good News of the Gospel to our world.
Anchor Church, we can’t do everything, but we can do something, and this Overflow Offering will help us make a difference in our world.

What happens when you give:

We increase the efforts to reach our local communities and help provide the hope of Jesus to people just like you and me.
We continue to partner with local organizations who are doing a great job ministering and providing hope and help to those in greatest need. Organizations like Orlando Children’s Church, Hope for Kids, Orlando Rescue Mission, Feeding Children Everywhere, and Second Harvest Food Bank are all doing a great job. We want to continue to join them in their efforts.

As we have seen in the last year, natural disasters and tragedy strike without much notice. We want to be able to provide relief efforts when these times of devastation comes. We will reserve funds to help those in their greatest moment of need. We also are part of a church network (Association of Related Churches) that helps start churches all around our country. A portion of what you give will go to help other churches, just like us, get started. ARC helped start 120 churches in 2017 (and we are one of them!).

I have been to a couple third world countries. One thing is common among many of these nations, people lack hope. We want to partner with organizations like World Hope to help provide hope. Sometimes hope is something we take for granted, like our education. World Hope has established the Hope Academy, in Kawangware, Nairobi, Kenya. It is here that education provides hope to rise out of the slums. Hope Academy is in the process of raising money to renovate their school classrooms with fresh paint and floor repairs before school starts back in January.
Will you pray about what you will give from the overflow of your heart this Christmas on December 17?
